Access
We have a commitment to making our work accessible to all families and work closely with venues to ensure we’re doing as much as we can to make your theatre visit easy and enjoyable. Some of the ways we do this is by offering (by arrangement):
- Touch tours
- Meet the cast
- Relaxed performances or closed performances for specific groups
- Access support packs and Visual Stories, available on request
- Audio described performances (in development)
“As a single older mum, of a little girl with a rare speech disorder/ dyspraxia, I wasn’t sure if Florence would be ok watching The Elves & The Shoemaker. Oh, how wrong I was! Funnily enough, she was only scared at first, before the performance. In the dark, as soon as Sam Lacey came on to the stage, she was transfixed. She adored the Elves- Norris & Wimble, and giggled and signed happy all the way through the show. She’s only 3 so it was a big thing for me with her dyspraxia. Meeting the Elves at the end was the icing on the Xmas cake! Thank you so much! I have 1 happy little girl, whose snoring away, as we speak. The excitement of it all!” Audience member ★★★★★
“S&N’s process of puppet making & puppetry led to great outcomes & remarkable moments for the children, for example one child who doesn’t speak used his puppet to actually talk to his friend.” Hannah Baker, Children, Arts & Wellbeing Manager, Arts Development Company
