Puppet Cabaret – A weekend of creativity!

Behold, your dream come true – a weekend workshop for adults where you can do it all – create a character, make a puppet, write a song and then stage the song with you and/or your puppet performing!

It’s a whirlwind weekend of creativity, really fun and a chance to express yourself and hide behind a puppet, who can sing your song instead of you….or alongside you!

This is all about song writing and making! Singer songwriter Sammy Hurden has worked with Stuff and Nonsense for two years, bringing people’s original songs to the stage with a piano accompaniment.  Skilled in drawing out ideas, Sammy helps you find the words, shape a song and figure out how to sing it.

Holly Miller is our resident puppet maker, who will help you create a characterful puppet that can sing!  The whole weekend will be topped off with Director Niki McCretton helping you to stage your song, so that you and/or your puppet look and sound fabulous.

The performance will be early evening, on the final day – with a chance to invite people to watch. We will also film your song, so you can share it with the world…or not!

Great fun and a good chance to meet new people and new puppets and perform on the stage of the beautiful old Lyric Theatre, Bridport.
