New show announcement!
We are delighted to announce the creation of a brand new show.
Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company, ARC and The Albany present:
The Man Who Wanted to be a Penguin
This is the story of an extraordinary explorer and pioneering problem-solver. Planning his latest mission to the Antarctic he is learning to speak Penguin and hopes that you will too! Through puppetry and song, this playful show celebrates wild creativity and the joy of individuality.
Two periods of Research and Development have already taken place, to explore key themes, including workshops with numerous schools to test ideas with young audience members and incorporate their thoughts and responses. Creation will begin mid-May, now that funding is place. The show will open for its first three-week seasonal run at ARC Stockton in December 2019, and its second run will be at The Albany, Deptford, December 2020.
The Man Who Wanted to be a Penguin will be suitable for all the family, from ages 3 and up. We can’t wait to get started, and will keep you updated with pictures and videos as soon as we can.
We’re incredibly grateful to our partners for helping us to realise this new work. The Man who wanted to be a Penguin is co-commissioned by ARC Stockton and The Albany, supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, with additional support from The Lyric, Bridport and The Point, Eastleigh.
